  1. Cookies

Like most websites, mine also uses cookies to collect data.

A cookie is a small file which asks permission to be placed on your computer’s hard drive. Once you agree, the file is added and the cookie helps analyse web traffic or lets you know when you visit a particular site.

Cookies allow web applications to respond to you as an individual.

Cookies may be either “persistent” cookies or “session” cookies: a persistent cookie will be stored by a web browser and will remain valid until its set expiry date, unless deleted by the user before the expiry date; a session cookie, on the other hand, will expire at the end of the user session, when the web browser is closed. Finally, cookies also help the website operate effectively and improve your user experience –the web application can tailor its operations to your needs, likes and dislikes by gathering and remembering information about your preferences–.

10.1 How I use cookies

I use traffic log cookies to remember when your computer or device accesses this website, to monitor which pages you find useful and which you do not, to have an overview of the pages viewed and of your journey around the website.

This helps me analyse data about web page traffic and improve my website in order to tailor it to customer needs. I only use this information for statistical analysis purposes and then the data is removed from the system.

A cookie in no way gives me access to your computer or any information about you, other than the data you choose to share with me.

You can choose to accept or reject cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer. However, this may prevent you from taking full advantage of the website.

10.2 Links to other websites, Social media features, Google Analytics

My website may contain links to enable you to visit other websites of interest easily. However, once you have used these links to leave this site, you should note that I do not have any control over that other website. Therefore, I cannot be responsible for the protection and privacy of any information which you provide whilst visiting such sites and such sites are not governed by this privacy statement. You should exercise caution and look at the privacy statement applicable to the website in question.

10.3 Google Analytics

When someone visits www.morettitranslations.com, I use a third-party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log data and details of visitor behaviour patterns (please refer to “Usage Data” at point 1 for more info on the type of data and to point 10 for more info on cookies). I do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. The Usage Data is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. I neither make or allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.

10.4 Social media features

This website also includes social media features such as profile buttons. I do not have share or like buttons on my website. These features are provided by third-party social media platforms themselves (LinkedIn, Twitter, Skype, Facebook and Instagram). If and when data is collected in this way, it processing is governed by the privacy policy of the respective social media platforms.
